HIgher Education Teams at Kwantlen Polytechnic University

This case study highlights the implementation of the CliftonStrengths-based Team Building Workshops and the High Performing Team (HPT) Program at Kwantlen Polytechnic University (KPU), led by Dr. Leeann Waddington. Following her participation in a leadership workshop, Dr. Waddington introduced these programs to enhance team dynamics within the Teaching and Learning Commons.

The CliftonStrengths workshops, facilitated by PeerSpectives Consulting, aimed to foster self-awareness and collaboration among team members. The subsequent 12-month HPT Program further embedded a strengths-based culture, introducing new habits for high-performing teams through workshops and an online learning platform, e2grow.

Results indicated significant improvements in teamwork, self-awareness, and productivity, with 100% of participants affirming the program helped them bring their best selves to work. Overall, the initiative led to a more cohesive and supportive team environment, demonstrating the lasting benefits of investing in team development and strengths-based practices.

Corporate Teams at First Onsite

This case study reviews the implementation of the High Performing Team Program at FIRST ONSITE, a leading disaster restoration company in North America. Sponsored by Regional Vice President Eric Hecht, the program engaged over 30 project managers and leaders from the British Columbia region, facilitated by Gallup Certified Strengths Coaches Stephanie Koonar and Louann McCurdy.

The program aimed to enhance self-awareness, teamwork, trust, and productivity among participants, using the metaphor of a professional race car pit crew to symbolize collaboration and excellence. It included four in-person workshops, access to the e2grow online learning platform, and individual coaching sessions, where participants learned about their CliftonStrengths profiles and developed five key habits of high-performing teams: Aim, Reflect, High5, CoffeeSync, and Progress Huddle.

Feedback indicated significant improvements in self-awareness, productivity, and collaboration, with 95% agreeing on the program helped them become more conscious of their behaviour. The investment in this program is expected to yield lasting benefits for both individual participants and the organization.
